Cicada Symphony
We're back in New Jersey now. Thanks again to Julie for letting us stay at her place on Saturday night. Saturday in the city was great fun, and it was nice to be back in my old neighborhood. Rich and I met up with Julie, Paulette, Mitch, and Mary for dinner and margaritas at La Fiesta Mexicana. Afterwards, we went out for a few drinks and met up with Corey and Rob. It was really great to see everyone over the entire visit.
Sunday, Rich and I caught the El up to Evanston to visit the relatives and also the Connecticut Sharps who were also in town. I managed to meet up with my Evanston friends where we spent the afternoon arguing over politics and religion. It was me and Mukie (D) vs. Tim, Ryan, Dave, and sometimes Paul (R). We all agreed that each side was moving too much to the extreme and not working hard enough to maintain a moderate viewpoint.
Now that I'm back in Princeton, the cicadas are making themselves known even more with the loud drone of their mating calls. After a while, it fades from attention as white noise, but it's there. Good luck to them.
