Semester 1, Complete

I finished my last final yesterday morning, and now I'm back in California for the Christmas! It's rainy by 70 degrees here, which is quite a change from the single digit weather in Chicago last weekend. Last week was Rich's grandfather's 90th Birthday party/Sharp/Traylor family reunion. It was quite a time, and the whirlwind trip, with me flying in, seeing Julie, Rich, Dargan, Brian, and Paulette on Friday night at the Handlebar, the family festivities the next day, and then me flying back to Pittsburgh to study for probability. I hope to be posting pictures again and soon!

Snow season

Well, I'm almost done with my first semester at CMU. This past week was ridiculous. I wrote 2 twenty page papers, had two problem sets due, and a presentation. I pretty much lived in my office during that time... But, now all I have left are a final project paper, a problem set, and my probability final! Hooray! Isn't it fun being back in school?

But, despite all the work, I've still managed to have a good time. I headed to Chicago for Thanksgiving to meet up with Rich, and for the Sharp Thanksgiving in Evanston which even included some Connecticut Sharps who were in town. Charles came along for his first real Thanksgiving. I'd told him that he had to go visit Chicago. While we didn't get to do a lot of touristy things, we did hit Gino's for some deep dish and met up with Dargan for dinner at Cafe Laguardia.

The CMU CUPS lab entered the Tor GUI contest. You can see our submission here.

I'm heading out to California on Dec. 21st. I'll be in Chicago for New Year's Eve! Let me know if you're around either of those places!
